4th of July

We just got back from Paso last night so here are our fun 4th of July pictures. We went to Cayucos in the morning for the parade and sand sculpture contest. We made it half way through the peddlers fair before both kids had melt downs so we retreated back to the car where they both crashed. We then headed back to my dads so he could take Allie fishing in the reservoir. All the big fish died last year when the water got low, so we were left with little blue gill. Allie had fun for a while but then got more pleasure out of throwing sticks into the water, thus frightening away any other tiny fish Aaron and my dad were trying to catch.

The kids were so hot and tired by this point that we went back to my moms and both kids were asleep by 8pm. I could hear the fireworks and they sounded great, but my bed sounded even better so while Aaron watched a movie, I went to bed at 9:30pm. I know... total party duds.

Little Guy, Cassie, Joni and Teresa (Allie was cropped out because she had a pin wheel in front of her face)

Yeah... the whole cute family.

Allie waving at the firemen. (She already likes a man in uniform)

My favorite sand sculpture. A cute sea otter.

Allie's first fish! She really liked to reel it in, but did not want to touch it because it was icky. She is such a girl!

Allie was not a fan of the cow poop that was all over the place. (We had to chase away the cows so we could fish right here. Later at my moms, Elwood was digging a hole from a broken pipe so it was pretty muddy. Allie was pretty worried about Elwood because she thought the mud was cow poop and that Elwood would get it all over him. I told her it was mud and she says, 'but it is brown and smelly like poop'.

Going to bed at 9:30 does not make you a party dud- in fact that is my goal now to try to get to bed that early- so far Kaitlyn hasn't had the same opinion and she decided that is a good time to be wide awake. I have given up my night owl status and apparently she has taken it over!
